A Sora alternative, now that Sora is gone.
OpenAI closed the Sora app in April 2026 and the Sora API in September 2026. Here is what happened, and which models do the same work today.

What happened to Sora.
On 24 March 2026, OpenAI told developers it would retire Sora in two stages. The Sora app and website closed on 26 April 2026, and the Sora 2 video models and the Videos API were removed from OpenAI's platform on 24 September 2026. OpenAI's deprecation notice names no replacement model.
OpenAI's help center describes an export of your videos before the shutdown, and permanent deletion of the data afterwards. If you kept your Sora prompts, they're the best place to start: the models below follow the same kind of description.

Where it's different.
- Sora had its own social feed and cameo features. Aventada is a studio, not a social network: what you make stays in your private library.
- You pick a model for each shot instead of using one model for everything. It's one more choice, and the reason you get the right tool for each shot.
- Each generation is a clip of up to 15 seconds, depending on the model. Longer videos are made by joining clips in an editor.
- There's no free plan. Unused purchases can be refunded in full within 14 days, as our refund policy explains.

Each generation is a short clip. Download them and edit them together in any video editor.

For realistic people and dialogue, Veo 3.1. For acting with native sound, Seedance 2.0 or 2.5. For motion, Kling 4.0. In Aventada you can use all of them with the same credits.
